Wojciech Kapela

A graduate of the Faculty of Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków (diploma, awarded a medal by the Academy of Fine Arts in 1997), currently a lecturer at the Academy, as assistant professor, running the Intermedia and Graphic Design studio.
He practises 3D graphics and animation, motion design and video mapping.

Author of exhibition and theatrical multimedia installations, special effects and animations for feature, short and promotional films. Passionate about nature and landscape photography. An enthusiast of nature and places untouched by human hand.

As a creator of artistic and advertising animation, he has worked with, among others: the National Museum in Kraków, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Kraków Festival Office. He prepared large-format projections for the following shows: Carmen TV by G. Bizet (dir. Jarosław Staniek) - as part of Kraków's Sacrum Profanum Festival, Quem Quaeritis - as part of the Misteria Paschalia Festival, Carmina based on a cantata by Carl Orff (dir. Maciej Sobociński) – Wianki in Kraków, a celebration of the 750th anniversary of the foundation of the city of Kraków. Author of special effects and animation for feature films, short films and promotional films (e.g. Angel in Love dir. Artur "Baron" Więcek), advertising animations, TV openers (e.g. for RMF FM, TVN S.A. TVP).

He has made video projections for dozens of theatre productions in collaboration with, among others, Anna Augustynowicz (King Lear, Come Back, Greta Garbo Has Arrived), Józef "Żuk" Opalski (Black Widows, Savannah Bay), Paweł Szumiec (Rabbit Rabbit, The Death of Beautiful Deer), Maciej Sobociński (Beatrix Cenci), Artur Więcek "Baron" (Tishner's Variations), Krzysztof Rau (Do You Exist, Mr Jones?), Andrzej Jakubas (My Dad's a Birdman), Krzysztof Babicki “Znaczy Kapitan”, Norbert Rakowski (Top Secret Research, Father, Amadeus).

Co-author of interactive installations, among others, 1912 dimensions of tradition / 2012 dimensions of space at Bunkier Sztuki in Kraków. His work in digital graphics and photography has been presented in several individual and group exhibitions.
